Steve has been at Spar-Tec Engineering for over 25 years. Phil Butt, Steve’s Dad established Spar-Tec Engineering in 1995, and after leaving school and training as a motor mechanic, Steve changed career and joined his Dad in 1997. Steve worked his way up from being an apprentice to his position now as Managing Director.
Steve has worked on a huge variety of projects, including being heavily involved in the Mirrabella 5 build, making bespoke equipment and parts for Olympic and Paralympic teams and athletes, designing and creating solar panel frames for catamarans, and of course many repairs to stanchions and pushpits that get damaged when people take out their boats.
Steve prides himself of the quality of workmanship he and his team delivers, and over the years, Steve has developed close working relationships with a number of marine based companies along the South coast who often refer Spar-tec to their customers.
When Steve is not busy working or renovating his house, he enjoys a round of golf with his friends, and walking his Siberian Husky Beau with his wife Julie.
