Who we are
Based in Port Hamble Marina, Spar-Tec Engineering is one of the longest established fabrication and engineering businesses in the Southampton area.
We are a family-run business with a combined experience of over 50 years. We have a skilled workforce and a full in-house workshop where we custom make, modify and repair a wide range of fittings and parts for a variety of industries.
Being marina based, we have vast experience in marine works and repairs. Whether you require a small, customised job or a large scale fabrication for your small leisure craft, super yacht or racing yacht, our core value is customer satisfaction, and we have built a solid reputation for delivering premium quality handcrafted workmanship over many years.
Away from the water, we have supported both Olympic and Paralympic athletes by creating bespoke training equipment. We also undertake a variety of metalwork fabrications across other industries regularly.

Stephen Butt
Managing Director
Steve has been at Spar-Tec Engineering for over 25 years. Phil Butt, Steve’s Dad established Spar-Tec Engineering in 1995, and after leaving school and training as a motor mechanic, Steve changed career and joined his Dad in 1997. Steve worked his way up from being an apprentice to his position now as Managing Director.
